When Oak Tree Coaching first met Crystal Insurance in 2005, it was a small insurance broker not able to achieve its high potential. The family team was working incredibly hard, but feeling overwhelmed. Immediate customer needs were being met, but often at the expense of increasing the agency’s long term effectiveness. The Company President had an ambitious vision and growth agenda, but felt there was never ‘time to get to the big picture’.
Oak Tree Coaching helped Crystal Insurance to make dramatic changes. After an initial analysis, we:
- Ran a strategic planning process to define a powerful and compelling business vision and strategy
- Ran a capability assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses and gaps within current organisation structure and team
- Provided skills development training on time management
- Coached the President on her leadership and personal impact
- Ran a team workshop to communicate the vision and improve team working (using Myers Briggs)
As a result, the company has grown beyond recognition. It has exceeded its ambitious growth targets year on year. Despite the challenging climate of 2008, Crystal Insurance achieved double-digit growth and a loss ratio of 27% - the best performing agency for one of its main carriers.
